Eugene Arenhaus

I have been privileged to work with Eugene Arenhaus before; he did a beautiful illustration for Alysha's Fall, my short story collection, and we've shared the pages of the World Tree RPG. The first sketch of a dancing eperu was a complete surprise to me, and I love its lucid grace. It should be available for sale soon from Rabbit Valley. I love the second for its serenity.
You can learn more about Eugene's work (including his intriguing alien species, the Focco) at Chiseled Rocks.

Ashryn

Having Ashryn render one of the Jokka was a completely unexpected delight. Her edgy work lends itself to the themes (and frequently, the personalities!) of the Jokka, and Jekun in particular was a perfect match. And yet, there's a lyrical softness to Ashryn's Jekun that goes just perfectly with her expression... in one piece, she managed to capture just the right ambivalance. I am impressed!
Ashryn's second piece of an unnamed eperu with a very large spear was even more of a revelation--she understands how much hair is a part of being a Jokkad, and the tail in particular was a perfect rendition of an unusual tail flourish that I've only done myself once or twice. The energy of this piece is simply wonderful.
You can find more of Ashryn's work at her website, Cathode Ray Mission.

Tess Garman

Tess is an emerging illustrator of great talent and imagination, so I was quite pleased when she took a liking to the Jokka and decided to use them as practice for doing bipedal creatures. These sketches show an interesting side of the Jokka, I think . . . their wildness. And the last was a fun collaboration: my pencils, her ink and color.
Tess and I shared pages in the World Tree RPG, and she also has a couple of websites where you can browse her beautiful, intense artwork: the Scratchbook, which houses her current sketches, and the Distorted Dimension, her portfolio site.

Otter

Otter hasn't made much of his artwork available yet: a pity for the rest of us because it's such a refreshing change of pace from anything I've seen. It has a delicacy and an intricacy of line that gives the eye enough to linger over without overpowering you. I was delighted by this ink sketch of a saucy anadi daring to defend herself with spear and stone sword. Makes me wonder what's going on with that...
While Otter's website is under construction, do check back once in a while to see when it's available for more art and poetry: it's at Otter Central.

Shadow

Shadow is a very talented artist in fabric! I have long admired her beautiful posable animals and pointed as many people as possible to the Caligan Creations website. In addition, Shadow writes and draws; you can learn more about that at Shadow and Memory.
This particular Jokkad is supposed to be Tañel, modeled from my picture "A Private Clay." While Tañel here is not for sale, you can commission a Jokkad of your own from Shadow with my blessings. Check the Caligan Creations site for more information.
